What is a School Career Development Advisor (SCDA)?

School Career Development Advisors work in the K-12 sector to help prepare students for meaningful work and managing their careers. These advisors work with other staff to coordinate the design, implementation, and monitoring of school and community-based efforts to improve the chances of students entering the job market with skills, knowledge, and credentials to be competitive. Examples of this work may include providers of career education, key contacts with business and industry, and organizers of events such as career days, job fairs, or internships/externships.

Training Format

Harrison & Associates East offers the SCDA Training as either an add-on course for our FCD Training or as a stand-alone course. The SCDA Training is a total of 48 hours of online instruction consisting of 8 live virtual face-to-face (F2F) hours and 40 eLearning hours. The course is designed to be completed in 4 or 8-weeks, you decide. Live virtual F2F sessions are typically held 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm EST Mondays or Tuesdays unless otherwise posted. The eLearning hours may be completed at your own pace within the term dates.
