Evaluate organizational readiness for limited AI use and plan one small, reviewable AI-assisted practice. Participants examine purpose, workflow, information safeguards, staff roles, employer communication, approval requirements, quality review, monitoring, and accountability.

Use AI responsibly to support training materials, professional resources, and workplace communications. Participants evaluate audience and purpose, verify source authority, protect information, strengthen accessibility and tone, address permissions and publishing considerations, and retain human approval of the final work.

Learn how to translate a professional task into a clear, bounded, and usable AI prompt. Participants strengthen weak prompts, add context and safeguards, assess AI-generated responses, use follow-up prompting, and develop one reusable prompt for a low-risk professional task.

The Case Management Professional Development Series provides practical instruction for professionals who assist clients, students, job seekers, program participants, and community members.

Course 1:

Making Responsible AI Use Decisions in Career and Workforce Practice

Learn how to determine whether, when, and how artificial intelligence should be used for a professional task. Participants apply the HAI CLEAR Responsible AI Practice Framework, identify information-exposure risks, establish appropriate boundaries, assess AI-generated results, and retain responsibility for the final professional product.

AI Professional Practice Series


Practical AI Application for Career and Workforce Professionals

The HAI AI Professional Practice Series is an applied continuing-education series designed for career services, workforce development, education, case management, program leadership, and employer-engagement professionals.


The five-course series builds on foundational AI literacy through guided practice, professional safeguards, career and workforce scenarios, verification, professional judgment, and participant-developed work products.


Each course may be completed independently. Participants who complete all five courses are eligible to request the AI Professional Practice Series Certificate of Completion. 

The complete series provides 8.5 continuing education hours.


What Participants Will Develop

Throughout the series, participants complete practical work products that may be retained as an AI Professional Practice Portfolio.


The portfolio is yours and is not graded. Workbook activities and portfolio work products are not submitted to HAI. Each course includes a brief nonconfidential Moodle reflection, final knowledge check, course evaluation, and Certificate of Completion.

Responsible AI Use in Client and Case Management Services

2.0 continuing education hours


Examine responsible AI use in client-facing and case-related work. Participants distinguish appropriate AI support from decisions requiring practitioner authority, organizational approval, or qualified professional judgment while addressing confidentiality, re-identification risk, accuracy, bias, verification, documentation, and accountability.
